Folkeando plays music with deep roots in the Argentine folk music tradition with influences from all over the rich South American musical heritage.

Marcela Troncoso from Argentina, based in Malmö since 2004, is a professional tango dancer, artist, clothing designer and DJ with more than 30 years of experience in tango and other dances. She has taught & performed tango all over Sweden (including Skansen in Stockholm, Norrlands Opera in Umeå, Ystad Teater) and some of the biggest tango festivals in Europe.

The association TangoFolk Malmö was founded in 2008 by the members of the tango orchestra Orquesta Tangarte, who created the association to be able to present various types of events: concerts, lectures, workshops, dance evenings, courses and collaborations with other associations and artists. 

TangoFolk Malmö aims to spread the Rio Platense tango in all its forms: art, music, dance, film and other cultural expressions, with one foot in today's new urban pulse.

KLUBB BAIRES is a series of concerts with tango as a common thread. In a unique musical spectrum, we encounter a rich and cross-border content where diversity and equality are in focus. Last weekend, 7 - 9 October, we had the enormous pleasure to get once more in Malmö the visit of a great argentinean TANGO musician, and fantastic Tango music teacher, IGNACIO VARCHAUSKY, organized by Klubb Baires.

What to say about Ignacio? WORLD FAMOUS for its seminars/workshops around the world. TEACHER OF TEACHERS IN ARGENTINA. Founder of Orquesta El Arranque, and Orquesta Escuela Emilio Balcarce.

Ignacio delivered in Malmö last weekend a serie of three workshops about What makes Tango music danceable, Tango music for musicians ( open to general audience as well) and Tango on vinil, the hidden discography.

As usually, Ignacio illustrated the concepts with many musical examples in an extremely pedagogic way allowing everybody even us, non musician participants, to not only enjoy but deeply understand and learn about each thematic.

WHAT PRACTICA MEANS ?

• Practica is an space where you train your movements and your dance, in this case assisted by a teacher, that answer your questions, help to develop your movements, suggests variations. That assistance is available if you require it.
• You may as well exchange movements/ sequences with other dancers/ couples who are in the place if you wish, since Practica means an space of learning, training and development.
• We play varied music / different orchestras, and some tandas with milonga and vals.
• The dance room is fully illuminated and mirrors are available because training is the meaning of a Practica

December 16th and 17th, the last two days of the international auction of "The big four" (50 x 70 cm), illustration by Argentinean artist and tango dancer Marcela Troncoso, representing the four big names in Tango history, Osvaldo Pugliese, Anibal Troilo, Juan D´Arienzo, and Carlos Di Sarli.

The tango association Camarin, from Malmö, Sweden, current owner of the work, organizes this auction.
The last offer received is 4,500 SEK (Swedish crowns)

Klubb Baires & Tango´s Day on 11 December!

This year's last Klubb Baires celebrates the international Tango´s Day  at Mitt Möllan in Malmö with live music / concert, try to tango open class, Tango shoes sales and mingle.

Tango Day is internationally celebrated  on December 11 every year. The famous tango singer Carlos Gardel was born on this day, probably in 1890, and also the composer and orchestra director Julio De Caro, in 1899.

Klubb Baires invites this time with concert by Tango Primo:  Hedda Heiskanen (piano and violin) , Per Tidstrand (cello)  & Juanjo Passo ( bandoneon and guitar).

The event is organized in collaboration with Alfajores Dulcita,  La T milonga, TangoKompaniet and  Camarin tango association.


Schedule:

• Start: at 12.00
• 12.00 - 12.45 Try to Tango free class with Marcela Troncoso/ La T milonga.
• 13.00 - 13.30 Tango Primo. Concert.
• 13.30 - 15.30 Mingle.
• During the day;
• Alfajores Dulcita sells  coffee, tea, empanadas (meat & vego) alfajores & medialunas with and without dulce de leche 
• Tango shoes sales by Tangokompaniet.
• Mingle.
• End of the event 15.30

The purpose of this afternoon is to create an event with a warm and pleasant tango atmosphere familiar to all tango enthusiasts, and all music and dance enthusiasts in Malmö.

LA T PRACTICA - MALMÖ: A new concept is born!..... Wednesdays at Sofielunds Folkets Hus, with 2 solo training clases before Practica

WELCOME to experience a new concept at La T in Malmö!

Every Wednesday enjoy our both traditional SOLO TRAINING CLASSES, and afterwards 2 hours PRACTICA,  where to dance and train your tango, and if you wish, get advice or help from a teacher.

We start on Wednesday 6 October!

WHAT  PRACTICA MEANS ?

- Practica is an space where you train your movements and your dance, in this case assisted by a teacher, that answer your questions, help to develop your movements, suggests variations. That assistance is available if you require it. 

- You may as well exchange movements/ sequences with other dancers/ couples who are in the place if you wish, since Practica means an space of learning, training and development.

- We play varied music / different orchestras, and some tandas with milonga and vals.

- The dance room is fully illuminated and mirrors are available because training is the meaning of a Practica

SCHEDULE:
- 17.30 - 18.30 : CLASS: Tango technique & Ornaments.
- 18.30 - 19.30 : CLASS: Repertoire & Rhythmical sequences.
- 19.30 - 21.30 : PRACTICA (guided by a teacher) 
- OBS: Participate in single activities or combine as you wish!

HOW CLASSES & PRACTICA WORKS?

• ATTEND ALONE OR IN COUPLE AT LA T .
• DANCE/ TRAIN WITH THE PARTNERS YOU DECIDE, UNDER YOUR OWN RESPONSIBILITY. Please FOLLOW THE RECOMMENDATIONS of Folkhälsomyndigheten.
• NO NEED TO REGISTER! 
• CLASSES on Wednesday are solo training: you train technique, ornaments, sequences and musicality alone, without partner

AUTUMN SEASON MEMBERSHIP: 60 kr.

Membership gives you discount on classes/ practica on Wednesday, and classes/ milonga on Tuesdays, and also special raffles and other gifts along the season
